Why we started

Nobody outgrows the taste of home.

There's a specific grief to biting into a supermarket mango in America when you know what a real one tastes like — juice running down your wrists, the whole house smelling like a flower shop. If you know, you know.

And here's the absurd part: India grows nearly half of all the mangoes on earth, yet barely 1% ever leave the country. The finest fruit on the planet, and almost none of it travels.

The rest of the world isn't choosing the bland, fibrous mango at the grocery store. They just don't know any better mangoes — they've never been given the choice. That's why we started For The Love of Mangoes — to introduce the real thing to the entire Bay Area — not just those who grew up with it, but the curious ones too. Popular South Asian cultivars, picked for flavor, flown in fresh, and pre-sold before they even leave South Asia.
